Dr. Danny Baer

Dr. Danny Baer grew up in Ohio, and during the summer after high school graduation, he became a Christian at a Free Will Baptist youth camp. He answered the call to preach while attending Ohio State University. Following his time at OSU, Danny attended Free Will Baptist Bible College for two years of ministry preparation. During that time, he married his wife Debbie, also from Ohio. The Baers returned to Ohio for a few years, where he served as a youth pastor, Christian School teacher, and pastor. In 1979, they moved to Virginia Beach, VA, to minister at the Gateway FWB Church and School, where for seven years, he taught, led music, and served as principal. He then spent three and one-half years as the pastor of the Heritage FWB Church of Williamsburg, VA, before moving to Southeastern in 1989, where he has served as professor, Business Manager, Registrar, Academic Dean, and College Dean. Besides a degree in Math Education from OSU, Dr. Baer has a Master’s in Administration from Pensacola Christian College as well as a Master’s, Education Specialist, and Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern University. Presently, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Free Will Baptist Board of Retirement and the Chairman of the Committee on Denominational Research. The Baers have four children and six marvelous grandchildren.
