In Loving Memory of Dr. Russ Moots
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the homegoing of Dr. Russ Moots, a beloved professor, mentor, and leader at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College since its founding in 1983. Dr. Moots not only dedicated his life to Christian education but also played a pivotal role in shaping the lives of countless students as the chair of our educational department and College Dean.
Beyond his invaluable contributions to Southeastern, Dr. Moots was a personal mentor to me. Before his tenure at the College, he served as the principal of the school from which I graduated and as my high school basketball coach. His influence extended far beyond the classroom and the court—he was a man of unwavering faith, integrity, and dedication to Christian service.
Dr. Moots leaves behind a lasting legacy of academic excellence, spiritual leadership, passion for teaching, and a heart for students. He was deeply admired by faculty, staff, students, and alumni alike, and his absence will be profoundly felt. Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternity and celebrate his impact on all who knew him.
Please join us in praying for his family and loved ones during this time. We thank God for the life and ministry of Dr. Russ Moots.
