The Southeastern Family of partnering churches is over 150 churches strong. Our individual partners hover near 1,000. With all the good that Southeastern is doing for the Kingdom of God, now is the time to advance Southeastern’s vision of finding, training and sending workers for church-related ministries. Let’s look at a few reasons why now is the time for a renewed commitment to the mission of Southeastern.
Accreditation in View – On October 24, 2016 President Marcum and Dr. Danny Baer submitted Southeastern’s Self-Study to TRACS (Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools). The site visit by the accrediting review team is scheduled for November 28 – 30, 2016. We anticipate being approved for candidate status by the spring of 2017. Candidate status will afford many of the benefits of being accredited to our students.
Need for Workers in the Local Church – Communities across the United States are displaying the signs of post-Christendom. Churches are closing and the positive influence of Christianity in America is waning. Pastors, associate pastors, musicians, teachers and distinctively Christian business folks are needed in the local church to continue touching lives for Jesus Christ. America, which historically has sent out the most missionaries around the world, is declining as a lighthouse for the gospel.
God is Still Calling People to His Service – Currently, Southeastern has 37 men preparing for pastoral ministry. 10 of those 37 students are directing themselves toward missions. Southeastern has 10 students who are preparing to minister through music. 32 students are preparing for elementary and secondary education (teaching in the classroom). Five students are preparing to work in the business world while exemplifying Christian principles through the fundamentals of business. These men and women are excited about the prospect of serving the Lord through the local church.
