As a result of prayer, consulting with parents and pastors, and keeping up with community recommendations, Southeastern Free Will Baptist College has suspended classes on our campus through March 27th. Students were allowed to go home yesterday and have been instructed to return on Saturday, March 28th as classes on campus are set to resume on Monday, March 30th.
Our commitment is to deliver quality education while providing spiritual guidance and inspiration to our students. Therefore, during this suspension of classes on our campus our students will be able to continue their coursework online. They will also be required to attend a “virtual chapel” on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Next Tuesday, March 24th, an announcement will be made regarding the possible extension of the suspension of classes. Also, that same day an announcement will be made regarding our “Revive and Rejoice” Spring Conference.
Please pray for our students so that the hand of the Lord may be upon them and that they may grow closer to Him during this difficult and unusual time.

With the heightened awareness and public concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure you that public health and safety concerns are a priority at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College. We will continue to prayerfully make decisions that will protect the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff.
At the present time, we are using “Common Sense Caution” in our approach. For example, we have encouraged:
- Frequent and thorough hand washing
- Use of hand sanitizers
- Avoidance of shaking hands
Additionally, we are taking these extra precautions:
- Following the CDC guidance for colleges and universities
- Installing extra hand sanitizer stations
- Enhancing the intensity of the cleaning of public areas and frequently-touched items
- Establishing procedures for care and testing for anyone who may exhibit symptoms
- Monitoring the situation closely in order to make decisions regarding future events
- Establishing travel guidelines for students and staff
We are prepared to take even more proactive steps if we deem that normal operating procedures are no longer feasible. Therefore, Southeastern may, for example, modify college travel, restrict student travel, or even close our campus and finish the semester online. We also may be forced to cancel events. Please rest assured that we will keep the public well informed regarding these matters.
As believers, we know that we can trust the Lord and that in such times we find great comfort in the Scriptures (Psalm 27). Please continue to pray that we may have wisdom in dealing with this important issue.
