Refugees arrive at Camp Cristia in Romania

Southeastern alumnus, evangelist, missionary, and Christian camp founder Pavel Clipa says, “God is doing some amazing things around here. This van load of ten refugees left Ukraine for Poland…via Moldova and landed at Christian Camp Cristia in Voronet, Romania. And, we are thankful to our great God for directing them here to the Camp God gave us to use for Him. Today, Camp Cristia is a Fair Haven for refugees. But, as we look at it, Camp Cristia has always been a Fair Haven for refugees (Acts 27:8). Our camp is a place where people who are lost and at war in their soul can run to find rest, safety, and salvation through Christ. Please pray for us as we and other believers serve in this part of God’s Kingdom.

Missionary/Evangelist/Camp Cristia Founder/Ambassador

Pavel Clipa was born in Romania and attended Southeastern College from 1995 to 1997. Pavel founded Camp Cristia in Romania which is one of the most effective and beautiful Christian camps in the world. Pavel travels the world declaring the good news of Jesus. Remarkably, he finds a way to sit with foreign leaders and dignitaries and share the gospel of Jesus Christ. His family was united with Richard Wurmbrand through the persecution that took place in the mid-1900’s. Sadly, Pavel’s father was martyred by the communist regime of Romania during the persecution.

Pastor/Church Planters Cainari, Moldova

Victor & Shana Pascaru are missionary church planters in Cainari, Moldova. They request your prayers right now as they are actively involved in helping refugees and the war-torn people in Ukraine. Below you can read a recent update about a discussion they had around their dinner table with their family. It was on a topic that will awaken us all to the realities of the war. By clicking on the link attached to their names, you can go to their Facebook page a watch a video update of them and their church people actively serving hot meals to the five-plus miles of cars lined up to leave Ukraine.

Shana graduated from Southeastern College in 1999. While serving in Moldova as a missionary teacher, she met Victor, and they later married. God is blessing their family and church.

We had a tableful of people at lunch today. I love Sunday dinners with our married daughter and her family–today it included a few of their siblings. It’s the first time a recipe for a bomb has ever been discussed at our table. Apparently the Ukrainians are making homemade bombs that can stop a Russian tank. I was amazed. A homemade bomb can do that!!! I was also frozen into silence by the thought that we are discussing a war and homemade bombs in our dining room. (Okay, we “school” in the dining room, so we often discuss wars during history class. But the bomb topic really got me.) These boys even know what kind of glass to include in it! I hope they never have to make one, but somehow I’m glad they know how to.
After lunch, they left to serve the refugees. The older girls and I worked on our plan that we hope we never have to put into place. I’m going to miss that missed nap all week long!” – Shana Pascaru
