WENDELL, NC- It is with great appreciation and sadness that we are announcing the resignation of Mrs. Ericka Pettit (95’) effective December 13, 2019. For the last three and a half years, Ericka has served as a faithful, dedicated faculty member teaching piano, music theory, sight-singing, and was the accompanist for the Sounds of Victory choir. Mrs. Terri Siebert, Ericka’s mom, and former long-serving faculty member will serve as our interim piano instructor for the Spring 2020 semester. Also, Sarah Marcum will be the choir rehearsal pianist in addition to her duties as the Promotional Department assistant.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on staff at Southeastern. The college’s mission, ‘To Know Him and To Make Him Known,’ resonates so well with the intention and purpose of my family. I have desired to develop and train leaders for the next generation, not only in musical ability but also whose passion reflects the heart of Christ, which is to reach people where they are for His glory,” Mrs. Pettit said.
President Ange stated, “I have known and observed Ericka since early childhood, and she always exemplifies a humble and Christ-like spirit in her life and service, and she will be greatly missed on our campus.” Marc Holloman added, “Mrs. Pettit has been a tremendous influence among our students, and she has displayed excellence in the classroom and at the piano, all while doing so with humility and grace. Ericka has modeled godly womanhood and true Christian servanthood before us all. I thank her for the time, energy, and dedication that she has devoted to Southeastern.”
Ericka and her husband Matt Pettit (93′) have five children: Alex (19), Blake (17), Brenden (12), Jayden (11), and Luke (9).
